Hurricane Harvey Donations
Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc on the Houston, Texas when it made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane on August 25, 2017. Harvey dumped nearly 40 inches of rain on southeast Texas over the span of about nine days. These torrential downfalls resulted in catastrophic flooding in the Houston area. The images were shocking and heartbreaking. The staff here at Unity Medical Center wanted to do something to help those that had lost everything during the historic flooding. We came together as a team and collected donations to send to the victims. We were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received from the employees and all the donations that were taken in!! There was so much stuff! Some items collected were canned foods, diapers, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, tarps, towels, socks, baby wipes, non-perishable foods, flash lights, batteries, and so much more!! Our thoughts go out to those affected by Hurricane Harvey and we wish them a speedy recovery.
